Trek Bicycle Stores Gives Tube Donations
to Two Charitable Organizations

Jan 13, 2023. Trek Bicycle Stores of Florida was proud to give donations to two non-profit charitable organizations that focus on refurbishing bikes that are given to children in their communities. We are very happy to support causes that help people get bikes. We know how happy both children and adults alike are to have a good-working bicycle that they own and can use every day. From commuting to work, to getting back in shape, to just having a good time exploring their neighborhood, a bicycle can open new avenues of freedom and happiness and truly change a life.

We donated 600 bicycle tubes to Skip Riffle, the President and Founder of
Bikes for Tykes located in Naples. This volunteer organization was founded in 1987 and consists of professional, retired, and active community members that devote their spare time to repair, refurbish and rebuild bicycles that have been donated, collected, and discarded into beautiful new bicycles for children of all ages. Bikes for Tykes has donated over 40,000 bicycles to underprivileged children and adults in the past 39 years. They will use these tubes to fix up more bikes and trikes to donate and sell.

We also donated 2,000 bicycle tubes to Jack Hairston, the President and Founder of
Jack the Bike Man located in West Palm Beach. It started in 1999 out of a desire to help a young man and his bike in front of his house, and in 2007, after a news story coined the term, Jack the Bike Man, Inc. was founded. The word spread and Jack the Bike Man quickly grew into a charitable organization that outgrew his home and had to be moved into a large warehouse that now houses thousands of refurbished bikes for donation and for sale and a full service bike shop. To date, they have provided over 32,000 bikes to Palm Beach County, logged over 50,000 volunteer hours, and given away over 2,000 bikes each Christmas. They will use these tubes to fix up many bikes that will be donated and sold.

We want to give a huge thanks to both of these men and their charitable organizations for the outstanding and important work they do for the people in their communities. We couldn't be happier to know that we are supporting them as they give bikes that change lives.
